Hi, I'm Mike Phillips,
I'm with Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea.
And we're gonna address some concerns about how
to properly store coffee for brewing at home.
One of the main things that you're really gonna
wanna look for is the right environment, temperature wise.
A lot of people feel that keeping coffee in the fridge,
or the freezer, is a good way to preserve its quality.
When in reality, you're bringing in issues regarding
the humidity and temperature that are going
to adversely affect the beans.
One of the best things you can do is
to keep coffee in an airtight container.
In a nice room temperature, dark environment.
And that's gonna be the best thing.
Probably second to that, is also buying in small quantities.
You want to use your coffee fresh.
You want it within two weeks of when it was it was roasted,
to really get what you're paying for with regards
to a specialty coffee.
